Principal’s Report
School Camps feature during Term 2
The end of the term is an opportunity to reflect back over an amazing Term 2 at Springs. During the term, we have had three school camps. Year 5 students attended Currumbin Valley Farm School, Year 4 students at Numinbah Valley and Year 6 at PGL Kindilan. This is the first year that we have had camps across each of years 4, 5 and 6. Each of these camps had a different focus and stretched the students in different ways. Overall, the students really enjoyed our camp program. This is only possible due to the commitment of wonderful teachers at Coomera Springs State School.
Year 5 Camp in April at Currumbin Valley Farm School.
Year 4 Camp in May/June at Numinbah Valley EEC
Year 6 Camp in June at PGL Adventure Camp Kindilan
Term 2 was also one for special days, including Easter Hat Parade, ANZAC Day and Mothers' Day. We had a jam-packed sporting schedule with athletics, cross country, swimming, Kokoda Challenge event practice and Gala Day. The arts is also very important with Rocky Monster Show practice, Music Showcase, Matilda the Musical and COE excursions. Year 3 and 5 students participated in NAPLAN, we had Life Education and there were also many excursions and incursions this term.
We are looking forward to Rocky Monster Show next term.
Creating Bright Futures Together with students understanding their own learning progress!
We continue a short focus on the innovating work happening at Coomera Springs to support learning for all students. Students grow by understanding their own learning. Teachers help students to identify their current levels and what they need to work on to get to the next level. Students love seeing how they can achieve and grow as young people.
You might find that your student has learning goals that they are working on and some students will be articulate enough to know how they are going with their learning against learning targets. Students can learn a lot over a term and when they understand their learning and what they need to work on, they can supercharge their learning.
Regional Showcase Commendation
We are very proud of our work at Coomera Springs. This has been acknowledged with a Commendation for Excellence in Primary and Early Years in the 2021 Showcase Awards. Congratulations to our teachers for being recognised in this way.
Student reports
Semester 1 Student Reports are due to be emailed home by Friday, 25 June 2021.

News from our Music Department
Music Showcase Evening
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the students, parents and teachers who helped to make our recent Musical Showcase Evening such a great success! It was wonderful to see and hear the talent on display. Coomera Springs has some fantastic young musicians, and we are off to a great start this year.
State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP)
Congratulations to Aily L who was selected to perform in the State Honours Ensemble Program for Middle School students earlier this month. Aily is a very talented viola player and was one of the youngest students selected in this prestigious program, run by the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
Well done Aily!
Eisteddfod Update - Change of Venue
Students in the Junior Band, Senior Band, Senior Strings and Drumline have received permission notes for the Beenleigh Eisteddfod (now being held at Crete Street Theatre, Beenleigh) These 4 groups will be performing on Monday 19th July - Week 2 of next term. Please ensure your child has returned their permission note which was due back on Monday. If you have not yet returned the note please email it to Mrs Murray ASAP - amurr51@eq.edu.au
Parents please note:
For our performance times at the Eisteddfod, the times shown below are session start times – it is impossible to predict exactly how long the individual events will go, or what time our students will actually be on stage. The only way to guarantee seeing your child perform is to be there from the time we arrive and be prepared to stay as long as is necessary. There is sometimes quite a bit of waiting around, but this is entirely out of our control.

Information from General Meeting held on 23 June 2021
School Locker (Uniform Shop) have advised us that the stock of girls skorts are being returned to the supplier due to a manufacturing concern. The replacement stock will be made available as soon as possible.
The P&C are also investigating the costs of including an optional school bag to the Uniform List, as well as the inclusion of supplies for the Music programs conducted at the school. More information will be communicated once it has been fully discussed.
Next Meeting will be held on Wednesday 14 July 2021.
Help Wanted
To enable these events to be run successfully, the P&C will need to establish a Fundraising Committee. If you have or know someone who has the expertise in assisting and becoming part of the fundraising team, please let the Executive know. We all know that many hands can make the task easier. Should you be interested in volunteering your time to assist please let us know at the above email. Our vision is that this committee meets separately to the general meetings, this may be over a cuppa before, during or after school. A report will then be presented at the general meeting.
Again, please let the Executive know if you are interested.
Thanks everyone, enjoy a well-deserved vacation break and please stay safe.
