Classroom air-conditioning work
Work on classroom air-conditioning continued over the recent spring vacation as previously advised, as part of the Cooler Cleaner School Program. Cooling units have been installed as well as fresh air vents and A/C ceiling outlets. It is fantastic to see the cooling units around the school as we head into Term 4. The contractors continue to work on individual solutions for some buildings where required. We look forward to every Coomera Springs classroom being air-conditioned prior to the summer period.

We work together to maintain a COVID-Safe bubble for Coomera Springs in Term 4
As an entire school community we need to continue to implement the various modifications and restrictions on the way we do things to keep our school community safe, and our school operating. This has enabled a number of school events, excursions and incursions to occur. The guidelines under which we operate remain the same for Term 4. We continue to be vigilant.
- Monitor all Queensland Health advice and directives
- Do not enter the school if unwell – students, staff, parents and visitors
- Get tested if you have symptoms
- Adult social distancing inside and outside the school and restricted access to school areas
- Hygiene and frequent sanitisation
- We work together on this, including some live streaming of events to keep things happening for students where we can
Learning Excellence in Term 4
Through the amazing support and cooperation of our entire school community, we have been able to ensure continued learning excellence at Coomera Springs during Term 4. We have around 26 special events and excellence programs scheduled for Term 4.
- Live streaming or the sharing of highlights of school events such as assemblies and Footsteps to Fame and photo highlights of other events to enable our families to be part of student activities
- Our team have implemented COVID – Safe plans for 1:1 Information, Music COE, Instrumental Music and 2021 Prep Information sessions
- Every incursion, excursion and camp requiring additional planning and adjustments
With your support and some innovation, we plan to hold around twenty-six signature school events and excellence activities during Term 4. We know that 2020 is the one time every single student spends in their current year and we all want this to be the very best year possible for them.
Excellence at Coomera Springs
We have recently held our Year 4 Beach Day and Year 3 Day Camp. Please see the slideshow below to share some of these experiences.
This fortnight we also highlight our wonderful Platinum DoJo Celebrations.

Queensland Mental Health Week
Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW) is an annual awareness week that aims to shine a spotlight on individual and community mental health and wellbeing.
This year’s theme is Take time — for mental health.
Research shows there are six simple actions we can take to improve our moods, build resilience, and boost wellbeing.
- Take time to get healthy— being active and eating well is good for your mind as well as your body
- Take time to keep learning — learning new things can make you more confident as well as being fun
- Take time to show kindness — practising small acts of kindness, volunteering time, or simply helping a friend in need can help you feel more satisfied with life
- Take time to connect — spending time with other people is important to everyone’s mental wellbeing
- Take time to take notice — paying more attention to the present and the world around you helps relieve stress and enjoy the moment
- Take time to embrace nature — connecting with the outdoors and taking care of the planet is the best recipe for world wellbeing.

P&C NEWS
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome back to Term 4! We hope all families and friends of the CSSS community had an enjoyable holiday break.
Tuckshop
Due to your support, this term the Tuckshop will be looking at purchasing a number of new appliances to help provide for the demands of the business. We are still finalising some matters around purchasing but we hope to have these sorted out quite quickly. We thank you for your continued support.
Fundraising
At the P&C meeting held this week, the school provided us with an update on the restrictions on school activities currently being enforced by Education Queensland. We will populate some of the ideas that we have considered and we would welcome suggestions and feedback at any time. Please contact us at the email address on the CSSS Website or at: CSSS_PandC@coomeraspringsss.eq.edu.au. The next major fundraiser for this year will be the Christmas event, and at this stage it will be held in late November or early December.
Uniforms
The school and the P&C Committee have continued discussions around the provision of CSSS school bags for our students. It is anticipated that final design ideas, including approximate costs per bag will be known soon. We will distribute details of the finished product to the community (including students).
Communication
We realise that clear communication is important to everyone and hope that you have had a look at the ‘new’ version of the school website. It provides a single source of information for parents and carers, so please check it out at: https://coomeraspringsss.eq.edu.au/.
If you would like to contact the P&C Executive Committee members which includes the school Principal, please use the shared email: The_PandC.
If you would like to contact the P&C President directly via email you can do this at: PandCPresident@coomeraspringsss.eq.edu.au
The tuckshop staff are available via email at: cstuckshop@coomeraspringsss.eq.edu.au.
Monthly P&C Meeting
The final P&C meeting for 2020 will be held in the Resource Centre (next to the library) on Wednesday 11th November at 3:30pm. Please let us know if you would like to come along. All are welcome.
With your help, we look forward to providing ongoing support for our school, students and our community. We hope the remainder of 2020 is safe and enjoyable for you.
